What is Autism Spectrum Disorder?
/SD is a range of complex neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by social impairment, restricted, repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behaviors and communication difficulties.
Signs of Autism
- No response to their name
- Loss of language or social skills
- Poor eye contact
- Excessive lining up of objects or toys
- Difficulty interpreting what others or thinking/feelings (doesn't understand social cues)
- repetitive movements such as rocking, biting or head banging
Next Steps
- Get your child evaluated soon as possible! Early Intervention in Key!
- Evaluation may include a questionaire or screening instrument
- Comprehensive evaluation which involves a psychologist, neurologist, psychiatrist, speech therapist and any other professional able to diagnose your child
